Jess Petz

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), M.A. Counselling Psychology

After a decade in international humanitarian aid work, I became aware of the significant impact it had on my mental health. Through my own healing process, I reconnected with a sense of safety, cultivated healthier relationships, recognized unhelpful patterns, and learned to regulate my nervous system through body-based practices. This experience allowed me to return to self and reconnect with an inner sense of balance.

As I embark on this new career, it is another journey of discovery and learning, but one that feels attuned to my true self and values. I believe you know yourself best, and my role as a therapist is to walk beside you with care and support as you move along your own unique path. I approach therapy from a collaborative and relational stance, and firmly believing that healing begins in spaces where we can trust, connect, and feel safe with others. Reaching out can be hard, but I will be here to offer a compassionate, warm, and authentic presence throughout this process.

My Approach

I aim to bring my authentic self into sessions and work to create a non-judgmental, inclusive and warm environment to enable safety and growth. I work collaboratively with clients using a relational and attachment-based lens for our work. This often includes exploring early childhood experiences, attachment figures and relational patterns. I draw from a variety of theories depending on your unique needs including narrative therapy, psychodynamic, somatic therapy, emotionally focused therapy, ACT and CBT. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, creating space for reflection, connection, and meaningful change.
