Couple Therapy

Through couple therapy, we can breathe life back into your relationship…

Couple therapy can help breathe hope and life back into your relationship.

You are feeling a deep sense of hopelessness in your relationship right now. The disconnection between you and your partner seems to have reached a point where it feels like you are no longer allies but adversaries. It’s as if the love and understanding that once bound you together have been replaced with anger, betrayal, and isolation. Every day, you find yourselves drifting further apart, engaging in arguments that leave you both hurt and exasperated. Those once passionate moments of connection now seem like a distant memory, overshadowed by resentment and frustration.

If this sounds like what you’re going through, you’re not alone, and there is hope. Our goal in the couple therapy process is to help you rebuild the bond you once cherished. We are here to help you slow down the rapid descent into chaos that seems to characterize the majority of your interactions right now. Our approach focuses on getting you out of the rut you find yourselves trapped in day after day, and guiding you back to a place where you can remember and rediscover why you chose each other in the first place.

We begin by helping you identify and restructure the problematic patterns and interactions that have taken hold in your relationship. Our goal is to help you in regaining control over these patterns and to help you reconnect in a meaningful way. This involves breaking down the barriers and walls that have built up between you, walls that now separate you and prevent you from experiencing the intimacy and connection you once enjoyed.

To achieve this, we use an Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) approach in our couple therapy. EFT is a well-established and highly effective method that is designed to help couples de-escalate conflicts and identify the negative cycles of interaction that contribute to their relationship problems. Our approach is gentle and empathetic; we strive to truly understand each partner’s past and present experiences and feelings. This deep understanding enables us to guide you in communicating more effectively with each other, which can lead to meaningful change in your relationship.

EFT focuses on addressing the core emotional issues that drive negative patterns and conflicts in your relationship. By exploring and validating each partner’s emotions and experiences, we help you both to express these feelings in a way that fosters connection and mutual understanding. This process is essential in transforming the negative cycles into positive interactions that reinforce your bond and promote healing.
We are experienced in working with a variety of relationship issues, including but not limited to lack of communication, unresolved resentment, feelings and experiences of betrayal, grief, discrepancies in sexual desire, parenting difficulties and mental health challenges such as depression or anxiety. Additionally, we offer support for couples dealing with major life transitions such as the birth of a baby, a move, or a job change/loss, which can significantly impact the dynamics of your relationship.

Feeling hopeless, alone, or worthless in your relationship is not a place where you need to stay. There is a path forward, and we are here to guide you on that journey. Our commitment is to support you in rediscovering the connection and intimacy that brought you together and to help you navigate the challenges that are currently straining your relationship.
