Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), M.A. Counselling Psychology

Have you ever felt trapped in your own mind? Your thoughts, emotions, or behaviours impacting your life and causing you to lose the perception of who you are? Have you experienced something traumatic, such as a loss, a neglectful or abusive parent or partner? Have you ever struggled to get out of bed because of overwhelming thoughts and the warmth of the blankets become a barricade that protects you from the outside world?

We are only human, and we need to work together on decreasing the stigma on seeking help.

I wear my heart on my sleeve, and I often use the circumstances that I’ve experienced in life to connect with others. Our perceptions and experiences may differ from one another, but you are not alone. I am here to help you become the creator, writer, and producer of your own story – what do you want your next chapter to look like?

Issues I treat:

  • anxiety and depression
  • self-esteem and confidence building
  • self-discovery
  • boundaries and boundary setting
  • childhood and recent trauma
  • grief and loss
  • vocational burnout/work stress
  • emotional regulation/anger management
  • major life transitions/life stress
  • coping skills and mindfulness
  • communication skills
  • supporting children/teens with school stress
  • supporting children/teens with social difficulties

My approach:

Each client is unique, and I take the first few sessions to get to know you and your context, clarify your goals for therapy, and create a collaborative plan. The therapeutic modalities that I pull from are cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapy (CBT and DBT), narrative therapy (exploring your story and how you tell it), existential therapy, emotionally focused therapy, and internal family systems (in other words, exploring the ‘parts’ of you). You are always in the driver’s seat, and you may already have many of the answers you need. With a little prompting and guidance, they can be discovered. Let’s walk together on the path of your healing journey.
